Protein Bars Recalled After Traces of Hairnets, Shrink Wrap Found Inside

Doctors Scientific Organica, the renowned protein bar maker, has issued a voluntary recall of their popular Burn Boot Camp Afterburn Grass-Fed Whey Protein Bars. The recall was prompted by the potential presence of foreign material inside the bars, including remnants of disposable hairnets, shrink wrap, and parchment paper.

The Triple Chocolate Almond flavor bars, which were distributed throughout the United States via Burn Boot Camp locations and online, have been isolated to three specific batches. Consumers who have purchased bars with the lot codes 181, 184, and 187 are urged not to consume the product.

Although no illnesses or injuries have been reported thus far, the company decided to take immediate action after receiving complaints from concerned consumers. The safety and integrity of their products remain their top priority.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has posted a company announcement on its website, advising consumers to return the bars to the original purchase location or destroy them. The flexible nature of the foreign objects found in the bars may cause minor injuries, such as transient choking or gastrointestinal system injury.

Lot numbers, printed on the back of the foil for each bar and at the bottom of each cardboard case, can be used for identification. Burn Boot Camp is fully cooperating with the FDA in its investigation.
