At age 57, Nina Cash is officially a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie.

The retired university associate dean from California will be joining Penny Lane, Brittney Nicole, Jena Sims, Sharina Gutierrez, Berkleigh Wright, and Achieng Agutu in the 2024 issue.

It's the first time the magazine will feature all the Swim Search finalists who walked in their annual Swim Week runway show.

When Cash received the news, she was overwhelmed with emotion and expressed her happiness for all seven finalists.

'My heart just started pounding – I got tears in my eyes,' Cash told about her reaction to the news.

To her surprise and delight, Cash is now a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie, making it onto the 60th-anniversary issue.

The magazine has been a platform for renowned models such as Kathy Ireland, Christie Brinkley, Elle Macpherson, Kate Upton, and Ashley Graham.

Kathy Jacobs, the 'oldest rookie' at age 57, inspired Cash to pursue her dream and submit her photo to the casting call.

Cash's husband, who encouraged her to participate, clarified that it was her desire and supported her all the way.

Despite past insecurities, Cash now confidently embraces her journey and advises others to do the same.

She believes that shining and being true to oneself are more important than worrying about others' opinions.

Cash has received overwhelming support from younger generations and hopes to inspire others to pursue their dreams.

She challenges stereotypes, showing that education and beauty can coexist, proving that 'you can be educated and be in a bikini.'
