Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer received rare conservative praise from Faith and Freedom Coalition Chairman Ralph Reed after condemning antisemitic behavior, including within his own party.

In his speech, Schumer highlighted the left's support for various causes such as Black Lives Matter, fighting anti-Asian hatred, and advocating for reproductive justice. He argued that the same principle should apply in combating bigotry against the Jewish people.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also expressed agreement with Schumer's sentiment, and faith leaders from different backgrounds signed a letter to Congress urging unity against antisemitism.

Ralph Reed, the lead signatory of the letter, commended Schumer's speech as a profile in courage, given the ideological divisions within the Democratic Party that have shown support for Palestinians after Hamas committed terrorism against Israelis.

The letter called for immediate congressional aid for Israel, a strong response to Iran's support for Hamas, and the passage of bills such as the Maximum Pressure Act targeting Iran and the Countering Hate Against Israel by Federal Contractors Act, which aims to prevent the federal government from contracting with entities that support the anti-Israel BDS movement.

Faith leaders also advocated for the passage of the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act introduced by Sen. Tim Scott.

Ralph Reed emphasized the urgency to fight antisemitism, stating that America's commitment to 'never again and never forget' regarding the Holocaust is being challenged by the resurgence of antisemitism.
