Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer Asserts DeSantis Displayed Strongest Performance

Vivek Ramaswamy, the Ohio-born entrepreneur, and GOP presidential candidate, did not hold back during the recent Republican Debate, marking himself as a formidable contender.

Ramaswamy's performance attracted attention as he willingly clashed with his opponents, most notably trading sharp words with former Vice President Mike Pence.

Ari Fleischer, previous spokesman for then-President George W. Bush, expressed his admiration for Ramaswamy's approach, labeling him as a 'blunt-force instrument'.

Although Fleischer acknowledged Ramaswamy's influence during the debate, he was particularly impressed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, selecting him as the evening's winner due to his positions on COVID lockdowns and use of force against criminal elements.

Fleischer posited that Ramaswamy's forthrightness and willingness to tackle any issue without fear would appeal to the public, much like the impact of Donald Trump in 2016.

However, despite Ramaswamy's robust showing, Fleischer maintained that DeSantis had the edge, particularly for his warning that cartel smugglers could face dire consequences if they violently violate U.S. law.

Fleischer, who refrained from openly supporting any candidate, was joined by Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, a DeSantis surrogate, and Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla, another representative backing DeSantis.

Uncannily, Roy implied DeSantis could be the clear leader for his direct engagement with the American public, showing Florida's track record as a blueprint for White House policy.

Surprisingly, rep. Donalds didn't outright back his fellow Floridian, stating that DeSantis performed well but didn't totally command the room, attributing the spotlight to absentee front-runner, Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, despite not being present in the debate, was intricately woven into the discussion.

The discussion also covered other GOP candidates who did not make it on the day including businessman Perry Johnson, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, and former California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder.
