Renowned singer Rod Stewart recently unveiled his remarkably laid-back parenting style, attributing his leniency to a desire to be more forgiving than his own strict upbringing.

In an interview with 'Haute Living', Stewart admitted, 'I don’t think I’m as strict with my kids as my mom and dad -- especially my dad -- were. I’m very lenient with them. None have gotten into any serious trouble. A couple dabbled with drugs, but that’s all done now.'

Stewart, now 78, is the proud father of eight children, all of whom have managed to stay out of significant mischief.

The rockstar's children come from five different mothers. His first daughter, Sarah, 59, was born to ex Susannah Boffey. He also has two kids, Kimberly, 44, and Sean, 43, with ex-wife Alana Stewart.

Another daughter, Ruby, 36, was welcomed with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg. Stewart was married to ex-wife Rachel Hunter for 16 years, during which they had two children, Renee, 31, and Liam, 29.

Stewart's current wife, Penny Lancaster, whom he married in 2007, is the mother of his two sons, Alaister, 17, and Aiden, 12.

Reflecting on his family life, Stewart expressed immense pride in his children, emphasizing how much he misses them and his wife when he is away on tour. He considers them a wonderful luxury upon his return home.

While Stewart's Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace will conclude at the end of November after an impressive 11-year run, his plans for the future remain uncertain.

He expressed a deep affection for the venue, stating, 'I love Caesars Palace. They treat me like a king; they really do.' However, his latest album, a swing collaboration with Jools Holland, has sparked a desire to explore a new musical direction.

Stewart contemplated the possibility of returning to Vegas to perform his swing album if it proves to be a significant success. He also expressed a keen interest in collaborating with talented artist Lady Gaga.

Recalling his early days as a rock band aspirant, Stewart noted the unwavering support he received from his parents. They fully encouraged him to pursue his dream, even purchasing his first guitar despite his initial lack of interest.

His father saw the potential for success in the music industry and wanted to provide him with the opportunity. Stewart still cherishes that guitar, a Zenith, and acknowledges the significance of parental encouragement for all aspiring musicians.

As Stewart's residency comes to an end, he may bid farewell to his beloved Beverly Hills mansion. Priced at a cool $70 million, the property holds too many fond memories for Stewart to part with easily.

The musician has resided in Los Angeles since 1975 and holds a deep affection for the city. He has no intention of lowering the price, stating, 'I won't take a penny under what I've asked for.'

Rod Stewart's remarkable journey as a popular musician, devoted father, and passionate artist continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Although the future is uncertain, one thing remains clear: his enduring impact on the world of rock 'n' roll.
