In a heart-wrenching incident that has left a Florida community reeling, a devastated mother is struggling to come to terms with the tragic loss of her 4-year-old twins. Sadie Myers, a mother of four, discovered the lifeless bodies of Aurora and Kellan Starr in their room on August 26.

In a Facebook post filled with raw emotions, Sadie Myers expressed her disbelief and agony, saying, 'Not many will know the pain of losing two children at the same time and losing them in a way that makes no sense, but I have to believe that something in this universe chose them specifically. Maybe because their souls were too perfect for this world.'

The events leading up to the tragedy unfolded on the previous night when Sadie's husband, Don Starr, put the children to bed. Unbeknownst to him, the twins eventually woke up and decided to engage in some nighttime play in their room, which was not an uncommon occurrence. However, this time, their innocent playfulness took a devastating turn.

Aurora and Kellan climbed into a cedar toy chest, which they often used to store their stuffed animals. Little did they know that once the lid was closed, the chest would become airtight and soundproof, unbeknownst to their parents. In an unfortunate twist of fate, as they slept, the oxygen slowly depleted, silently sealing their tragic fate.

The following morning, when Don went to check on the twins, he was relieved to find them snuggled up together in the toy chest. However, this relief quickly turned to horror as Sadie rushed to their side and realized something was terribly wrong. It was already too late.

Like many parents, Sadie Myers had no idea of the silent danger lurking in wooden chests. In her heart-wrenching Facebook post, she shared her anguish, 'As they slept, all snuggled up together, they slowly ran out of oxygen within a couple of hours and passed away. They never even knew it was happening.'

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the heartbreaking scene, and an investigation into the twins' tragic deaths is currently underway.

The loss of Aurora and Kellan has left the Myers family devastated, struggling to cope with the unimaginable grief. Sadie Myers shared her deepest pain, admitting that it is a constant battle to keep the agony hidden from their other children.

In the midst of this tragedy, a GoFundMe page has been set up to support the grieving family. The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming, with donations pouring in to help ease the financial burden during this difficult time.

As this heart-wrenching story unfolds, it serves as a stark reminder to all parents about the potential dangers that can go unnoticed in our own homes. Let us cherish and protect our children, ensuring their safety above all else.
